My story

Hello! Thank you for coming to my page! My name is Chancellor Dutcher, I am a 23 year old wildlife photographer based in Washington, Connecticut.

My journey began back in 2017 when my grandma bought me my first Sony a6000. At the beginning, you could find me daily outside taking pictures of cows at the local farm, trees, flowers, and any wildlife that allowed me to capture their beauty. Between then and now I played around with a couple of different cameras, tinkering with their settings and functionalities, to enhance my photography skills and deepen my understanding of the craft. Despite the countless cameras I worked with, I always had my heart set on the Nikon Z9 with a Nikon Nikkor 600mm lens. I was fortunate enough in 2023 to receive my dream camera, and man was that the best day of my life (besides from my wedding day of course). This new setup allowed me to capture wildlife at a more intimate setting because of the larger focal length and opened me up to a whole new world of possibilities from behind the lens. Since that moment I’ve spent every free moment in pursuit of capturing wildlife in their natural habitat.

I’ve always loved the outdoors and found myself happiest while immersed in nature. To me, the wonderful thing about photography, is that capturing the beauty of nature not only allows me to express my creativity but also serves as a powerful way to share the tranquil moments and breathtaking scenes that inspire me. Each photograph can tell a story, reflecting the vibrant hues and unique textures of the world around me, and can help me connect with others who share the same passion for nature and wildlife photography.

I am so glad you’re here, on this site you can purchase any of my prints, or enjoy photographs of the wonderful wildlife. Be sure to check back often as this site is updated regularly.
